Making a film

This short is taking a big chunk of my life, and my creative juices. No matter how much time goes into this thing, it never seems to be getting to where it needs to be for approval. I'm going to sit down over the next few days and see what I need to do to bring a conclusion to this project as soon as possible. It's changed soo much since it's initial inception that sometimes I don't even recognize it. At some point I'll probably even write a PDF or EBOOK documenting the painful process of a film that's seen more rejection than a fat kid with halitosis. Pretty soon I should have a schedule in place, and will be aggressively seeking music/audio production talent as that seems to be one of the biggest points of offense.

Clean up and color

Too about 3 hours -import lines and process in Photoshop -vectorize into Toon Boom -Properly arrange frames and cycle -Do a base color for all part -Do a shadow pass -Play around with a softening effect -Next I'm going to adjust the line color to see how much I like that, then it's going to be decision on final and comp into scene with other elements finshed in the same manner so I can test how much time it takes to do one shot. My safe estimate is that I can clean up and color a shot in about two weeks max, with life and all happening.

Clean up test

Working on clean up techniques. Going to throw down some color to see how much labor is involved. So far the clean up went pretty fast. Then again this is some of the newest animation I've been doing which is much cleaner that the earlier stuff I was doing because I had no clue what I was going for at all.

Background Art

Put in some time doing background art! Getting some shots and posting them up. Decided to just complete the art in toon boom instead of trying to comp it together in after effects, or using Photoshop. Scanned in original drawings, decided to complete the art in Toon Boom to learn the tools, but also to make the exports more efficient. Also there is no loss of line quality as the camera moves.

Pretty soon I'll be presenting my project in hopes of approval. In the process of working through some of the last shots to touch before it gets down to the wire. adding some finishing touched to the bkg art etc... I need to get on this power point asap as well.
